Mrs. Rodriguez says... MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

I will be holding a full-length practice APUSH exam
in the Lecture Hall on
SATURDAY, APRIL 27th.

We will take a vote in class on whether to have a morning (8:00-12:30) or an afternoon session (1:00-5:30) a little closer to the date.

We'll go through the released exam from last year just as though it were the real thing--your only opportunity to experience the marathon timing before the actual test.  Afterwards, we'll go over all of the answers and I'll give a cram-style review session.

There will be cookies! :)

It is not mandatory that you attend--but unless you are physically unable to come I STRONGLY encourage everyone to participate.

Mrs. Rodriguez says... DOWNLOAD THIS APP!

AP US History Exam Prep - Powered by Brainscape
is FREE for a limited time only...

I was sent this alert this morning and downloaded the app myself to play with--I think it's GREAT.

It's essentially a huge flashcard set, divided by units--but the flashcards are of good quality and you rank each one based on how well you knew the answer.  It will then show you cards that you didn't know more often and cards that you did know less often as you learn them better.

For free--I HIGHLY recommend it!  Looks like an excellent study tool... and just think, you could study APUSH ANYWHERE you go!!! : )

Mrs. Rodriguez says... another movie?!

CNN Article: What 'Lincoln' The Movie Missed...

I'm glad to see that PBS is producing a film (airing Tuesday!) that shows the enduring efforts of the abolitionists to the cause of ending slavery.  I'm a HUGE Lincoln fan and liked how the movie showed his skill in negotiating the perils of Congress, but was disappointed that other abolitionists weren't shown (as Lincoln himself had to be convinced abolition was a good idea!)

I know you have buckets of "free time" ; ) -- but this PBS movie would be a worthwhile review of an important time period for you APUSHers!
